    Our No-Gi Grappling program is design to incorporate techniques from Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Judo and Wrestling, creating a blend that is very effective in self-defense, sport and MMA scenarios. Our structured reality-based approach teaches our students to utilize natural grips (such as underhooks, overhooks and head ties) to implement their takedowns and ground techniques. If you are looking for the perfect no-gi complement to your game, look no further! Previous BJJ or Wrestling experience is not required.

      Coach Curry has been involved with combat sports and fitness his whole life, having wrestled for the Chatfield Gophers and the RCTC Yellow Jackets. He holds an Associate’s degree in Personal Training and Group Fitness, as well as being a certified Personal Trainer under the National Council of Strength & Fitness. As MRJJA’s Strength & Conditioning coach, Zach prepares our amateur and professional athletes for competition and helps our students reach their fitness goals. His hobbies include hunting, hiking and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

      Michael started practicing Tae Kwon Do at a young age, and has been teaching martial arts since he was 14 years old. He won numerous state and regional level competitions, and currently holds a 3rd Degree Black Belt. Coach “Q” also trains in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and has successfully competed in Mixed Martial Arts. A caring and patient teacher, Michael is the perfect fit for our Anti-Bullying Youth Program. He is a realtor as well as owner of a successful photography business in Rochester.

      Chad Curry has been wrestling all of his life. A Chadfield Gopher stand-out, Chad went to State multiple times and placed 2nd in 2008. He then started training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at the MRJJA, where he currently holds a purple belt. Chad quickly transitioned into Mixed Martial Arts, and as of this writing holds an undefeated record. He is a great fit for our No-Gi and MMA programs, strengthening the wrestling base of our students.
